The Ocean Cove Inn’s location is excellent for exploring Yachats on foot. When you stay with us, you are within a five-minute walk of restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars, stores, post office, picnic areas … and, of course, the magnificent Yachats Bay beach. Other activities such as golfing, hiking, horseback riding, dune buggy riding, fishing, and whale watching are available within easy driving distance. Click here for links to local activities.
Our eight guest rooms are located in two unique buildings:
Upper Building — The UpperBuilding is the site of the original Ocean Cove Inn, which has been in operation for more than 20 years. The Upper Building, which includes four guest rooms, the office, and the managers’ quarters, sits on the southwest slope of a small hill facing the Pacific Ocean. The rooms are accessible by exterior stairs or a ramp. Each room (Sunset, Alsea, Shell, and Perpetua) has sliding French doors that open onto a common deck with individual seating areas so you can relax and enjoy the view. |
Lower Building — The Lower Building is nestled between the Upper Building and Whale Park, a tiny public park that is home to a one-of-a-kind whale art sculpture. Each room (Agate, Beachcomber, Driftwood, and Tidewater) faces Whale Park and the ocean. Outdoor seating is available in front of and on the east side of the Lower Building. |
You have your choice of rooms with one queen bed, one king bed, or two queen beds. Here’s an overview of how our guest rooms are furnished:

The Ocean Cove Inn attracts a wonderful variety of guests—from couples looking for a romantic getaway to tourists who come here to enjoy our many local arts and cultural events such as our Fourth of July fireworks spectacular, the Kite Festival in September and the Mushroom Fest in October. During the winter season, you can watch Yachats’ spectacular storms—complete with wind-whipped waves as high as 46 feet—from the cozy comfort of your room. In addition, winter is the prime time for whale watching, either from the inn’s deck, the beach, or a whale-watching charter boat. Whatever your reason for visiting Yachats, we welcome you to our beautiful village!
On 12/28/11, renowned travel expert Arthur Frommer named Yachats as #7 on his personal list of his ten favorite travel destinations. Thanks, Mr. Frommer!
